Getting Ready for My Son's Retirement

My son is retiring from the Navy around the end of this year and I have some memento planed for him.

Just took this off the saw and laid it on a backer. This was trickier than I thought it would be. Some very fragile areas and I was doing it with flat blades on a new saw. Took me some time, I had to go real slow, but I am getting some practice with the flat blades. I used a FD-PSR. #3.

Thank you all for the nice comments.  But, I am getting to do it over.  I talked to my son about it and he loves it, except, Commander in the Navy is abbreviated as "CDR" not "Cmdr".  He was okay with it, but this will be hanging where a lot of Navy people will see it, so I was not okay with it.  I have it about 1/2 redone.  This time I am doing it with 1/2" maple and the edges of the board routed so it is "self-framed" like I did with the "Lion Roar" picture I posted.  It will look better, I hope.
