the wood is poplar. probably just the angle and I have not put any finish on it. Hot off the saw.

Nice job!  Does it stay expanded into a bowl without glue?  It looks like the top would be sort of heavy and would want to push the bowl flat again.  I like the pattern though.

so far the bowl part has stayed expanded. I do not glue these so they can be stacked flat for storage. Less chance of breakage. MIke
