Cartoon Intarsia
« on: March 06, 2015, 10:47:38 am »
My granddaughter showed me this picture in her coloring book and asked me if I could make her an Intarsia for her bedroom wall. I didn't have a pattern so I had to freehand the image onto paper. I still have a ways to go before this is complete and I will post my progress toward completion. I have a pretty good idea which cartoon she will want next!

RDATELLE,
I am humbled by your kind comments. Believe me I am still learning myself. If you want to learn how to do Intarsia you might want to check out www.intarsia.com by Judy Gale Roberts. She has a deal called "classroom in a tube" that will help you get started. Also, there are many talented people in this community which I'm sure will also help you get started. Brian Pardue is an outstanding Intarsia artist who just completed a massive project which can be seen in the Brag Forum. Good luck!

Louis, you and Brian Pardue do really nice work.
I am getting ready to try my first intarsia project of a cougar by Kathy Wise.
I hope I am not biting off more than I can chew. lol.

Jerry,
I really like the patterns by Kathy Wise and I think the cougar pattern is an excellent choice. The best way to learn Intarsia is by jumping in and doing it. You'll find it to be very addictive and your first piece is where it all begins. Good luck!

I swear I made comment on this already, maybe a different forum.  That is an awesome start.  Cannot wait to see the finish.  Really outstanding work.
