The Humming bird can be found on Steve Goods Blog, the rocking horse came from a book titled Scroll Saw Christmas Ornaments by Tom Zieg.

How thick are your ornaments, in another thread you mentioned you are making your ornaments out of poplar.  Do you re-saw it?  I can only get 3/4" thick poplar locally.  Also, do you stack cut your ornaments.

Mike, these are 1/4 inch thick.  I make the Arrow Heads from poplar, but have never really used poplar on anything else.  I don't stack cut since it is not really my forte.  I buy my poplar at Lowes and can get it from 1/8 to 1/2inch I think.  I buy the 1/4 since I also sand the Arrow Heads to look like arrow heads.  Hope this helps.

That does help and I'll have to snoop around a little if yours carries it mine must also well perhaps.  Thanks for the info..If you have not tried stack cutting you will love how much time it saves.  Perhaps give it a try.

stack cutting ornaments is the only way to go. it also gives extra support to the pieces and if you break one you don't have to start over you still have 3 or four more. i make all of mine out of 1/8th inch baltic birch. 4 at a time cuts way down on saw time and builds inventory quickly. Mike

I have found 1/2" poplar at Home Depot. I am in California. I know HD does not carry the same think in all regions.
