Christmas gift
« on: January 15, 2015, 12:15:14 pm »
So this year I decided that I would buy my own gift for Christmas--after a year of comparing band saw and their vices & vertues , I decided on the Craftsman 14 in saw. For the money ($400) it's a great saw. 8 inch resaw, i hp motor etc. For another $21 for Timberwolf 1/2 inch blade and about $10 for 3/4 in melomene for a table top and fence(see youtube), I now have an excellent saw. What a difference the timber wolf blade made.  Tottally amazed howwell it cuts, I have some 3in x 6 in x 48 inch walnut and it sliced 3/16 boards like it was butter. I'm like a kid in a candy store.  Now if I don't cut my other thumb off---Richard

Congrats on your new saw.  Hope it all works out for you.  I have the old 12 " craftsman Tilt Head saw and have been thinking about upgrading.  Might look in to the new craftsman's.

Junk is something you've kept for years and throw away three weeks before you need it.
