Lighthouse
« on: January 06, 2015, 05:10:51 am »
Hi all I volunteer at the sallies family store in home town NZ.
The attached pictures show a lamp of square wooden pieces that form the shape of a lighthouse.
It has a small motor on the inside that turns a spoon that is the reflector.
Question is something like this is unique and is probably worth something,   wood anyone like to put some sort of price on it.

Cheers ***Melin***

Something like that would be of interest to a lighthouse collector.  I do not know about in your area but here in the states there are lighthouse enthusiasts that love lighthouses and the histories of them.  Something like that would tickle their fancy I am sure.

Hi Merlin,

Last summer my Sweet, Lovely wife and I toured a Lighthouse Museum in Wisconsin (Far north central part of the USA.)  Don't know if they could point you in some direction to find a Buyer.

When I was a boy I wanted to be a lighthouse keeper. Fed by stories from Maine.

I love it. I am a Lighthouse crazy lady. lol  What kind of wood is that and how did u finish it. I love the shine on the wood is why I am asking. I would love to buy it but my OTHER HALF would kick my little BOO- TAE  if I bought one more lighthouse item.  :-\
  I don't think you would have trouble selling it. There are alot of us Lighthouse People out there. Good luck Hun!  ;)

Howdy Merlin....First Impression I feel it looks Expensive and well made and amazing construction and the wood contrast
is Eye Catching for sure.  And the fact that you have a small motor inside makes me feel the price I would be looking st
would be between $75 and $100.00.  Keep us posted on your further investigations.  KK?            Danny  :+}

Thanks for the replies people.
Danny: thanks for your idea of a price that was about what I had in mind.

I reread my post and bugger forgot to say that the piece was given to the family store and I just made sure it was going and cleaned up some, so the wood species is unknown to me.
