My Treasured Christmas Gift
« on: January 06, 2015, 12:34:30 pm »
I haven't been active here lately. Lots of things going on with Christmas, friends and family visits and good times. I did want to step in and show off one of my treasures from Christmas. This was built for me by my 15 year old Grandson in his wood shop class. He is the one in the family that has shown the most interest in my love for woodworking. This was very toughing for me. He is a great young man. I am very proud of him.

Paul,
Your grandson did a great job on that shelf. Its great that there are
still some woodworking classes in the school system.

That is great workmanship, I agree, get him started on the Scroll Saw as he has a knack for the trade.
I got my introduction to wood working in High School as well and am in my 68th year of woodworking

That is very cool. I made a redwood gun rack for my grandpa when i was in 8th grade. It won 1st place in the county fair. He kept the ribbon on it while it hung in his office. When he passed away, i was willed the gun rack and now it is hanging in my garage with the same ribbon on it. One day i look forward to giving it to my son!

Thanks for sharing that, brought back some great memories.
