Interesting video, Charlie,
Too bad you lost the segment you mentioned about the center ring.
I am also curious about where the neck and mouth segment were.
Did you also cut a neck section square to the table and use one of the
45 degree segments as the mouth?

Thanks ya'll.  Still learning to edit videos.  The center pine ring and the pine ring in the neck were both cut at 90 degrees to the table.  The mouth of the vase was at 45 degrees (due to 1/2 inch thick wood and 1/2 inch wide ring).  It was the same size as the top ring just under the pine neck ring, therefore a separate piece of wood

Very nice job, Charlie, with both the cutting and shaping.   l am afraid My Dear Bride caught me looking at the video and said "Oh, your going to make me one of those?".  I don't think it was a question.  So now I have another project.  They keep you young.  Thanks for sharing

Oooh, I love the looks of that Cedar slab and resulting vase.  I can remember working with cedar and the neat aroma that it gave off.  Very nice job on the video.  I can see that I need to get a one inch belt sander.   

Just a couple on nits to pick.  I thought I would enjoy the sound since I love banjo music.  However the apparent continuous loop got a little annoying.  Also I notice that it didn't seem that you were wearing any personal dust or eye protection.  If I didn't do that I would be in serious sinus-allergy problems.

Over all I would give it an "A" for effort and content.  Your video gave me the confidence to try one myself.  Thanks for all your effort.

Thanks guys.  Admittedly I was not wearing dust protection on my face.  I was wearing glasses though.  I also had a fan going full blast to blow the dust away from me as I cut and sanded.  As far as the music...yes it was looped, but 1- it wasn't my top priority lol and 2- I couldn't find a "free use" one long enough to cover the whole video (in the same style of music).

Hi Charlie I thought it was beautiful. I can't wait to get more experienced to try. Those are exactly the kind of vases I want to try, but not experienced enough yet. But thanks for sharing.
