Flying Duchman sawblade.
« on: March 20, 2014, 09:19:20 am »
Hi, today i got the starter pack that i orderd from Lesley's Patterns. Wow, what god blades, like night and day with the cheap ones that came with the saw. I have starved with them for a month and thought that scrollsawing whas not for me, but with this FD blades it is so easy, like cut in butter, so now there is joy in scrolling again.

I get mine there also.  I fact, I am past due on the ordering.  Keep using a different size because I am out and I need to take an inventory so I can send a order.  It will make him happy, it will be big..

All I use is FD blades from Mike at Mike's Workshop. Great service and a friendly conversation with each purchase.  :)

I get my Flying Dutchman blades from Mike also.  Good blades and great service. Very good prices when I buy many gross at a time.

I am waiting for my order to show up in the mail. I ordered online in the morning, and had an email from Mike that afternoon saying they were shipped.i am going to try the new spiral #3 blades. I have not had good experiences with spirals. However the blades were not good quality.

Clyde,  Do not sit down and expect to be able to do a perfect job the first time you use them.  It will take some practice, and then some more practice.  After a bit of practice you will be amazed (One way or the other)  Needless to say, I use them quite a bit, but not only them.  There is a time to use them and a time for flat blades.  Whatever, have phun..    Good luck  :):):)

I did my first "real" project with the scrollsaw this weekend, it was one of Mikes patterns, the Heart key. It was really fun to use the FD blades and so much easier then the cheap ones. But it's a hard job to fit the blade into the drillholes because my cheap saw is made for blades with pins and the clamp that is used for pinless blade is not very smart. I will have to come up with something there, i have some ideas that i will think over. Even a footswitch would be nice, perheps it could be built.
Thanks for all the comments.
