Greetings from South Dakota Dan.  Like Newfie, I can't make a recommendation on the saw - don't own either one.

Welcome to the madness and addiction.

Hi Dan
Welcome to the site.
I have an older RBI
Very good saw ,no vibration
Make sure you get the newer one, they improved the blade holder to make blade change easier.

Hi Dan and welcome to the forum.  I'm Julie from Texas.  Glad you found us.  As far as the saw, I haven't used either one but I here they are both good saws.  I have an EX 21.  I started on a Dremel.  The long and the short of it is find a good deal and get started.  There is nothing wrong with used, mine was a reconditioned saw and has been going strong for over 10 years.  Magnificent projects have come from the cheapest saws.
