Map of Michigan and The Great Lakes
« on: August 03, 2013, 10:09:10 pm »
My cousin in Michigan asked me to make this for her.  The Map and the Great Lakes are cut from 1/4 Baltic Birch and the colored wood slats under the cutout are Aspen painted with water colors then sealed with Shellac and a coat of Poly.  The BB wood sits about 1/4" above the painted wood giving it a 3D-like effect.

Thanks for Lookin'

Nice job Tommy, I like the gap between the pieces.
I can see my house there on the left edge mid-height. ;D
