Second Project
« on: July 30, 2013, 03:28:26 pm »
Just finished this piece today since I dont have a power sander it was hand sanded. Its Poplar 3/8 ( Sorry I had 1 inch but I forgot Lowes doesnt state it acurately so I had to measure it myself) inch and the design came from Steve Goode's Blog. I finished this one with Boiled Linseed oil.

Nice job. That is a lot of hand sanding.

In case you didn't know it already, it's a lot easier to sand the inside with the bottom off, then attach the bottom to sand the outside.

Nice job.  You sure do jump in with both feet!  Two pretty tough (and sanding heavy) projects right off the bat.  Well done.

Wow I hope you don't suffer from Arthritis because if you do your going to pay for all of that hand sanding.   Really awesome work.

Nope Wombatie I suffer from having Kienbocks Disease in my wrists which from what the doctors have told me is worse pain wise then arthritis is. That hasnt stopped me from hand carving, Blacksmithing, Knot tying, Jewelery making, Armour making, and all of the other stuff I do. I just need to find a better way of hand sanding instead of like I stated only having 1 roll of self adhesive 220 sandpaper ( I need to get a Sanding sponge or better higher grit sandpaper to do before using the 220 ).
