Todd, Is this what you are looking for? If you let me know what your font is, I will redo it for you.

Don thats kind of what i;m looking for but not exactly, what i'm looking is where the words cross the symbol you cut the letters out so the out side letters are wood and the ones inside are cut out.all the letters have to be attached together.this is a lot harder to explain then i thought.

I think I understand what you are shooting for and except for the words not being joined, the way I did it will work if you cut on the black outline but it is going to be terribly fragile no matter how you cut it (pun intended).
I will give it a little thought and see what I can come up with.

the words on the outside of the pattern need to be attached as in my a temp at it because its going to be a stand alone piece rather then a portrait style. i was also going to put other musical notes on the sides where the lettering is on the outside for more support

Don ,I am right here :) I tried several times in Corel draw but some how I was unable to weld it!! I did experiment on a heart shape and welded some letters on it and it worked. i am not sure where I was wrong with this one? Let me try again and thanks for the shout ;D

As I see it, when you cut the letters in the treble clef you severely weaken the thing and it wont hold together. I really don't see how it can be done and hold together unless you have some other elements to hold it together. It is an interesting problem though.

thats what i'm thinking to Don add some more musical notes to the outside to join the treble clef and the lettering together.
