Ok some new saw work
« on: December 12, 2012, 07:03:07 pm »
Well have the replacement saw running. Started with some ornaments first. During this time I did some minor experiments??..blade size and speed. Started with a #5 blade at 1/2 - 3/4 speed since that was the fastest I was able to use before. Broke 2 blades right out of the gate. ??? When I was replacing the second blade I notice that the lower arm was leaning to the right >:(???I tweaked it with just enough influence it to make sure it will be standing straight. VISE GRIPS.  I finished cutting the Joy ornament with no problem. In fact I increased the speed to just over ? and did not have any problems even with my turns. No blade wondering and was able to stay on line. I no longer am fighting with the blade. :D The next one was done with#7 at the same speed. I did have some minor problems. Some tear outs along the edge and was having a more of a difficult time with the outer edge.  But it is fine for a painted ornament.  ;D ;D
My clock was done with the other saw. I had to do a lot of sanding and filing on both of them. The walnut one is the better of the two. :( :o

?Well son keep practicing till yah git er done right?

The ornaments look great. The clock frame looks good too. Post a picture of it when you add the clock. Thanks for sharing.
