Thanks Shelia, All I need now is some close grained timber/lumber.
I have some Walnut anyone have any idea's on that wood for Shelia's ornament.

Walnut will work I think. Any wood that is tight grained like maple, cherry, walnut will work well. Mahogany is OK, but it is a little less dense and may not be as sturdy. I love Oak and it is beautiful, but again, the grain is more open (depending on your actual piece) and being cut that thin some of the details may weaken it further and it will be very fragile.
My partner Keith wrote a really good article on North American Hardwoods and their characteristics and how they would relate to scroll sawing that may help you choose the best wood for whatever project you are working on. It is located on our "Free Stuff" page on our site. The link to it is here:

Thanks Shelia that was helpful but... I live at the bottom of the world in NZ and most of those trees are not available here.
We have Walnut and there is some oak, Maple and Cherry never heard of in NZ, but will inquire.
