Acrylic pieces

I was wondering what all you scrollers use for the sides of the piggy banks you make.  In the past I have ordered the precut pieces from the pattern makers, but they are really getting up in price.. $3-4 each.  Does anyone know of a site that will sell in bulk at lower prices.  I know some of you cut your own, and I would ask what thickness you use and where do you buy it...

I thought I would have at least there would have been a couple people that knew of a place to buy these in bulk...or perhaps there isn't such a location.  Do you all cut these from a larger piece?

nevre made piggy banks before for the.as for cutting Acrylic pieces i would say it much the same as cutting plexiglass.i cut a bit of that you can get it at most hardware stores from 3/16" to 1/2".i'm sure with some looking around you should be able to get colored sheets of it as well as clear.i do know craft stores carries Acrylic pieces but there expensive.

Just about all the woodworking supply sites I know of sell the acrylic.  Sloan's woodshop is well known here as a good place to buy:

They all have some assortment of acrylic as mirror, transparent or solid in multiple colors.

Or perhaps your hardware store would sell you a sheet of clear plexiglass?

Find a signmaker. They throw away loads of bits of various plastics, and have to pay for its disposal.

If you use glass, make a pattern and go to a stained glass shop and they will cut it for you.  I use glass for nativity night light lights and it is so much nicer than acrylic.

Don't forget HD & Lowes for thin acrylic.
