Mum's embroidery
« on: September 29, 2012, 03:47:40 pm »
Before mum passed away she loved doing embroidery, recently dad found one she had finished and hidden away. I know, looking at it, it's not far off being a pattern as it is. But I was wondering if any of our fantastic pattern makers could make it into a proper pattern as I would like to make it for dad's Christmas suprise. Thanks in advance
Keith

Attached is my attempt.

If this is not correct size let me know as I have in Inkscape and resize accordingly.

Please check for any floaters as I may not have got them all.

Don and Mahendra, thank you both so much for the patterns they are both great. This January will be the second anniversary of mum's passing and I still miss her more than anything. I try each year to make something to remind dad and I of her and this will be a fitting tribute. Thanks again to you both. And thank you frankorona for your kind thoughts.

Hi Keefie, Your Mum was a very talented lady by the looks of your photo. My Mum and Grandmother did embroidery for more years than I care to remember. Unfortunately both passed on a few years ago and I still miss them. Sorry to hear you lost your Mum too. Glad these great guys here managed to do a pattern for you. Kind regards.
Rob Roy.

Keith I lost my mum back in 1981 and I miss her every single day.  When I went back to the UK recently I was given her wedding and eternity rings and her watch all of which I thought were lost forever, now I wear the rings and I will never take them off.  I love that she left you with fond memories in the form of her embroidery and I think she would be proud to see your cutting on the wall.
