Piggy Bank Finished
« on: August 16, 2012, 09:06:52 am »
It is finished. I decided that it looked better unpainted.  The finish is shellac.

Looks quite nice DW.  Is this a pattern you may share?  I now have four grandkids, and one more on the way.  Nice idea for a gift.

Well done.  Thanks for sharing with the group.

Al,

The pattern for the pig is actually a cutting board pattern that is free off the SSW&C website.  Here is the link..
http://www.scrollsawer.com/files.php?force&file=issues/ssw36/PigBoard.pdf.  You will need to modify it for the bank but that is simple.  The plug is just a short piece of 1 1/2 inch round dowel with a 1/8 inch dowel inserted to enable it to lock into place.

great looking pig, I think you were right about the finish, I don't think it would have looked so good painted.

Well Done once again!
Agreement also on the natural finish!

All my grandkids are college age or older so I will start on the next generation!
