Caution about stick on sandpaper
« on: August 09, 2012, 07:49:39 pm »
Recently I visited a supply store and picked up some stick on sandpaper that was on sale to use with my 4X4, 1/4 sheet palm sander. It didn't take me very long to realize that the edge of the sandpaper can cause a very serious cut if your fingers or hand come in contact with it.  I have decided to use the stuff attached to a piece of wood. I guess there was a reason why it was on sale in the first place. Also it will destroy the foam pad on your sander.

I don't use it on power sanders because of the damage to the pad, however it is great when attached to wood blocks or contoured pieces.  It is also great fastened to table saw miter gauges, etc to prevent working pieces from slipping.
