Back Home and busy!
« on: July 15, 2012, 01:11:29 pm »
Got home late yesterday, have been attending to my patient who is recovering well from the surgery so I now have a little time...

SAW Expo...
I enjoyed the show and met some very nice people. Missed my seminars due to a problem with a blockage in my 'good' ear that was more annoying than debilitating...wax buildup and it dropped into the canal and blocked the good eardrum. When I couldn't get it to come out I opted to go to the ER and have them remove it. This happens every couple of years and always at an inconvenient time. It took them a while and it was a major 'hunk' of stuff but no harm done. IF you have ever had this problem you know well what I am talking about and if not you will not understand. It happens and there is NOTHING you can do to prevent it!

Had a nice visit with Cherie and Juan, spent quality time with Jim Stiek, and then finally connected with Katie & her mom.. She is a lovely lady and fun to be around. Of course with her being a teacher and my friend Julie being a former teacher and principal they had lots to share also.
Sure wish I could go to th show in WI but only one a year is feasible so next year, God willing, I will head to Wisconsin.

All vendors were very helpful and  easy to talk with. Met Ray (Seyco) and had to deliver a big hug from Sheila which was just a tad embarrassing for both of us!!! Told him I am saving my nickels for the EX21 and he said he will be happy to wait for me. Spent time with the folks from Bushton and they are going to see if they can come up with a way to adapt the blade clamps to work on the older models of the Hawk so the blade change will be less cumbersome.

One major critique!
Took a long hard look at the PS Wood  Machines scroll saw...
My impression is that the blade clamping system really sucks. Even the woman demonstrating had problems so I would NEVER consider purchasing that machine. Were it not for that it would be a pretty good machine.

Cherie got many more pictures than I and has given the link to her Facebook photos so visit there for some really good looks at the booths and especially the Project Entries.

I have a few I will post later.

For now I am playing nurse, caregiver, cook, maid, gofer, etc. for my sister and she is responding well.

~~~GB~~~
I never really wanted to grow up....All I wanted was to be able to reach the cookie jar...and play with my DW 788
Happy you made it home GB and I hope and pray things go better with your health and all.  I had a great visit with you too, but never found Katie.  :(
