Blade Problem
« on: June 20, 2012, 09:21:34 am »
I have never used a blade bigger than a #5, but, my wife wanted me to make her flower pot hangers out of 1 1/2" pine. So, I inserted a #12 blade, but, it would never hold. Do I have a clamp problem or do I need to make adjustments? (Ex 21) I may call Ray @ Seyco, but he really stays busy and was hoping someone here could help me.

I onlt use a #5 blade to cut 1 1/2" pine, but you do need to take your time and let the blade do the work. I don't usually have a problem with it.

Hey Tony, Try cleaning off the ends of the blades with a folded piece of 220 grit sandpaper. This will take off the layer of oil left by the manufacturing process.

Me personally I would use a #5 or #7 for that material as I despise big blades. I'm with Dan.. if your clamps are not holding scuff the ends with some sand paper. Make sure your not over compensating and tightening to much Just because your using a big blade. Use a fast speed and slow your feed rate way down and you should be good to go.
