I use a branding iron and usually countersink a current year shinny penny next to it.  Sometime I just use the penny and Initials if space is limited.

Back in the days when everything was still on dial-up we had two lines and one was dedicated for the computer. We kept a phone hooked up to it but never gave out the number. Whenever it would ring I would answer with something like  Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza   * we were in VA.  Thise were also the days when long distance calls were not really cheap!

Marcel

I ams sure you would have done much better with the Polar blades. They make a world of difference. As for the drilling. gov slow, back out often to clear the debris, and if possible, use a spray bottle with water to help keep it cool. I know it will take longer but it gives better holes.  Have no iea about the flakes

Or you could choose to have a little fun with them.   Ask how to log on with a Commodore 16? Dial up speed 300.  Just carry it on using techno -talk as long as you can.  When I was working I use to get call wanting to sell toner, printer ribbonss ect.  When the tle me that had ribbons, I would request a black ribbon for an Underwood Model 12. Told them I had a hard time finding them. Once the salesman transferred me to his supervisor  and he asked the model I told him and he shouted  Thats a damn typewriter and slammed the phone down.  BUT   they didnt call back!!!!

GB is correct!  If and electrician sends his helper to the truck for a pair of diagonal cutters, he might as well have asked or a left handed sky hook.   But ask for a pair of dikes, he will be back in a flash.  Sometimes I think its a matter of laziness rather than disrespect.  Dikes is a whole lot easier to say than d i a g o n a l   c u t t e r s.

My wife made me  a couple of pair of "fingerless mitts" a few years back for the same reason.  The do keep the cold off you hand and wrist but for me I need to "feel the wood"  Often I will wear on on my left hand and keep the right free.. Een thought it can be cold feeling and touching the wood, feeling the cut and the slight vibration of the bland and saw a a part of it. I have been known to aim the heater at the table for a bit before cutting and that too helps.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Stools or chairs for SS

I use a standard dining table chair.  No wheels. I built my stand to accomodate this height.  It is comfortable for me.  I also use  ( unlike most)  a on - off foot pedal. That way I can start the saw and cut for a long periods and am able to move my let to different positions for comfort. I find it uncomfortabe to have to keep  pressure on the pedal to keep the saw running.

Another  thing to watch is Amazon.  When I purchased the Triton Spindle Sander   (  Off on a tangent--- see post about that in Coffee Shop  BTW Hey Triton I have removed your router from my wish list ( wish list = Hey Honey can I get this) other folks make good routers also). Back from tangent!  Price was $153 US - We have the prime so free 2 day shipping.   When you purchase or even just view items you get them in your "internet adds -  yeah they track what you look at)  A few days later -  already had the sander -  got an ad from Amazon and the price was now about $25 higher. it stayed that way for a couple weeks.  Just did a search and Rockler sells it for $170 and Amazon has it marked no longer available. Still not sure how it works but after researching for a few days, I got the better price.
