Hi folks,
I recently viewed Steve's topic on the laser guide for his drill press,I do not have a drill press but a version that is designed for portable drills and the device he used will not fit on my type of press .
So as a solution I purchased a couple of lasers at $5 from China on Ebay and mounted them in a wooden frame that fitted under the drill clamp.
I then wired them to a spare 5v cellphone battery booster and when required just plug in, no switches needed.
The lasers are focus adjustable but when set at the right place a dab of hot glue is needed to keep them set or the vibration of the drill will send them off again.
The alignment of the cross center is done by moving the wooden frame around on the clips,it takes a little time to set up but is a cheap and effective way of being accurate when drilling your projects.
