My scroll saw table is not 90⁰ to the blade front to back, side to side is perfect. This is causing a wider cut at the bottom than at the top, the piece will fall out of the bottom but cannot bring it out of the top. This happens when I make a circular cut. I can see no way to adjust this settin, anyone have any ideas?

General Scroll Saw Talk / New scrolling problem for me.
« on: January 27, 2024, 08:02:29 am »
I have been scrolling for several years and dearly love the hobby. I have recently developed a problem that I can't figure out what is causing it. While cutting on thicker wood, 1 1/2", mainly numbers or letters, the piece will not fall thru from either side.  I have insured that the table is 90⁰ to the blade. I feel sure that it has something to do with force, but I make a conscious effort not to force the cut but the piece will not easily come out in either direction!  Using flying Dutchman #5 SR blade. Any suggestions or recommendations?

General Scroll Saw Talk / Scrolling on Cherry Wood
« on: February 16, 2018, 08:19:19 pm »
I attempted to scroll a pattern using cherry wood.  Using a flying dutchman scroll reverse No. 5 blade, the cherry wood (3/4") burned like crazy and almost welded its self together.  My questions - What did I do wrong?  Is cherry wood not an acceptable wood for scrolling? Thank You

Thanks for the response to my inquiry.  I have looked at the specs on both saws and they are identical.  Very helpful response.  I think I'll go with the Delta. Thanks again.

Introduce Yourself. / Dewalt vs. Delta Scroll Saw
« on: October 13, 2017, 08:38:58 pm »
Hello, I'm David and a relative new comer to scrolling.  Have used a very inexpensive ($79.00) Harbor Freight scroll saw since I started the hobby about a year or so ago.  I am now hooked!  I am looking to get a much better saw and have looked at the DW788 and the Delta 40-694.  From what I have heard the Delta is made by the same company that makes the Dewalt and the parts are interchangeable.  The Delta is about $100 cheaper and has a couple features that the Dewalt does not have (i.e. Arm lift lock).  I never see anyone with the Delta, seems everyone prefers the Dewalt.  Apparently there is a reason other than price to consider.  Would someone help me by explaining the pros and cons of the saws?  Thanks, I love the hobby.
