hello, I am sending you a link where you can make one for your door.

I hope to serve you and have fun for a while

Thanks Frank, I did love this plan. I also found a place on line that sells the zypher pins and the wire. So I have hardware, just need to make one now. Appreciate the help you gave me.

Have a great day tomorrow, and please keep it safe. Hard to cut wood when you have a hand blown off by some firework. Seriously though, keep it safe and have fun.

Very nice work. Make that ship clock look good. If you could find other clocks like that I bet they would make nice gifts. Thanks for sharing.

I was thinking of using such a plywood to make a bowl. I dont have a good pattern for a bowl, but was playing around some and noticed the plywood makes an interesting pattern for a bowl. Just a thought.

That is pretty cool looking sander. Im sure it isnt expensive compared to some sanders, but a bit more than I will afford for now. I am looking at a belt sander/disc sander combo. My birthday is in September, think my wife will get me one. I hear flex sanders are good...but are they better than a belt/disc?

I grew up the step son of a gunsmith. We always had at least 20 to 30 guns in the house. Not a single one of them there guns ever went crazy and killed anyone. Come to think of it...nor did anyone in the house. Guess them guns are not all that bad. If only people would get educated on gun safety. BTW...most them guns were not locked up, at age six I was taught not to touch them. Could stand at the gun cabinets and look all I wanted, but if I even lifted a finger to touch the cabinet I was in trouble. In return I got to go on the range and fire some pretty cool guns.

In the old days I had a saw that used adapters to use plain end blades. It needed an allen wrench to change the blade. On average it took me about 2 1/2 minutes to change from one hole to another. Now with my saw, it takes about 10 to 20 seconds!

Yes, my current set up is like this. For now it is ok, but can sure take some time and patience just to cut one hole. I will have to use what I have for about a year unless I can find a way to save up extra money for a saw like yours.

Thanks all for the nice comments. Also thanks Barry...I was going to keep that one around to remind me of my beginings, but my cousin had a birthday, came to town, (hadnt seen her in 18 years) and she REALLY REALLY liked it. So now if I want to be reminded I have to go visit her in Missouri and look at it there. Right now I am in a huge project working on what I like to call intarsia...but until it is finished not sure if that is what it is. I have updated pictures of it on the intarsia posts.

Tutorials, Techniques and Tips / Which Scroll Saw to Buy
« on: June 25, 2012, 11:32:22 pm »
First of all let me start off by saying I am not looking to buy a new saw right away. I am using the HF saw I got for Christmas last year, and doing pretty good with it. But, as much as I enjoy this hobby, I will eventually want to buy a better saw. So my question is, what saw (without spending a fortune) would people here recommend? I remember seeing a scroll saw at the AZ State Fair about 5 to 10 years ago. It had a real easy to remove blade for quick change and for setting up to do fretwork faster. I guess that would be what I would want. Any suggestions or ideas?

thehandsomewoodman.com Is a place I got some wood from. I found them very comparable to Occoch. I only got blue pine from them, but I do believe they have other woods too.
