Intarsia / Re: Mr Fixit #3

I too think you should continue the series as long as you can. I realize that it can get boring and you should change off for a while but, these patterns should sell like hot cakes. The subject of repair jobs is never ending.
I don't (haven't done) do intarsia but I still appreciate the work and enjoy looking at them.

Growing up in Arizona, I could never understand people driving into a flooded gully or wash, then being surprised when their cars were washed away.  ::)
You see it in the news every year, and those dummies keep right on doing it, you would think they would get the message, but noooo! They breed and multiply and vote, no wonder we're in such a mess!!!! I heard the definition of insanity was doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result. There sure are some insane people out there!
Gabby

People who do that sort of thing should be made to pay the costs of the rescue services to save their dumb asses. Or in the case of death it should be told in their obituaries the cause of death.
Stupid cannot be cured.

We got some rain last week. 1/4" one day and 3/4" a day later. and then we just had another 1/4" yesterday morning. It had been about 50 days or more of dry weather and 100 degree temps for us this summer. Almost feels like a Kansas rain forest now.  :D

Tutorials, Techniques and Tips / Re: Bloody wood

I am reminded.
Several years ago,I worked in a sheet metal shop. As I would indoctrinate a "Newbie" into our shop, I would always tell them, "Now when you cut yourself, NOT IF but WHEN, always bleed on the steel not on the floor. We will ship the steel out and all will be well, but if you bleed on the floor, we will have to look at it FOREVER!"  ;D

I have always said that the bravest man in the world was the first guy that ate an egg.

Can you imagine George saying "Phil, I'm going to eat the next thing that comes out of that chicken's @$$!"

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Aileens Tacky Glue....
« on: August 10, 2011, 12:06:43 pm »
Cedar has some oils in it that make it hard to glue. Besides making sure that the dust has been wiped off, you might want to wipe it down with mineral spirits or alcohol to dry out the oils just before applying the glue.
I have never used this glue so I can't comment on it. For permanent glue-ups, I stick to Titebond. (pun intended) Either  Titebond I, II or III depending on where the project will end up.

i was looking at the pattern and noticed something i'm not to sure about. i'm not a farmer by know means, but i didn't know that bull's have an udder or that cow's have horns??

FYI.....Bulls DON"T have udders but, cows do have horns unless they are cut off by the rancher. Look it up.

Pattern Requests. / Re: Grandma pattern
« on: August 03, 2011, 06:58:08 pm »
I made one a long time ago for my grand daughter that says

"OK! That's IT! I'm calling Grandma!"

I'll give a look around and see if I can find the patern. Then I'll have to find out how to post it.

It was 110 degrees in the middle of Kansas today. We have had 37 days of triple digits so far this summer. The record is 50 days back in the thirties and the weatherman said that he is expecting to beat that record in August.
The highest temperature recorded in Kansas was 114 years ago and we have had at least three days of 113 this year!
Not to mention the lack of rain, which is another subject all together.
KEEP KOOL guys and gals.

Hutchinson Kansas has been the "HOT SPOT" of the nation several times this summer.  ::) :P
Please tell ME about heat.  ::) >:(
