Rog,
The Sprite and Midget were "cute" but very impractical. For a large person they were nearly impossible to drive with such a small cockpit. Made for little people which is why there weren't that many in the states.

Gabby

Gabby,
I resemble that remark and represent your altitude!
At that time, I was 6 foot tall and weighed 150 pounds. I drove the Midget to work and back for a year and a half.
I also replaced a rear axle three times.
They were very cozy on dates in the winter time too!
I carried a can of WD40 to dry out the distributor in case we saw a mud puddle.
My new wife decided that a Midget was not a married mans car and I sold it. (first gear was out of it and the tire was going flat while I was talking to the new car salesman)

Three years later my wife found the Sprite that didn't run and decided that the little cars were a lot of fun. We paid $100.00 for it and I re-built it from the frame up. I did the engine and tranny in the basement over the winter.
We enjoyed Sunday afternoon drives with our baby girl (she is 38 now) in the jump seat .
Although I painted it orange, it soon became a "White elephant " sitting in the garage most of the time and I sold that one too.
Kinda miss those days.

In the past, I have owned both an MG Midget and an Austin Healey Sprite (basically one and the same) They were fun to drive on sunny days but, if a cloud showed up it was all over. They had Lucas ignition systems and the dampness would drown them out. I understand that Lucas also makes refrigerators and that is why the British drink warm beer.   ;D  ;D

It was also reported by Fox news that the Washington Monument was leaning to the right after the earthquake, but MSNBC reported that it was leaning to the left.

Kim
And guess what? Both were wrong!

I think it was leaning back but, I wish it were leaning forward.

Well, at least you have learned a lesson about cheap plywood. I'm not sure what that is between the top and bottom layer but, it sure isn't WOOD!!! You need to use Baltic birch with several layers of wood in the center. The more layers the better.
As far as your question, I have applied patterns to wood in just about every way there is to do it and I still go back to spray glue and packing tape on top of the pattern. Everyone has their favorite way of doing things. The clear tape is suppose to add some lubrication to the blade and prevent burning of the wood and tear out but for me, it also helps to remove the pattern from the wood also. It gives a little more strength to the paper when pulling it off the cutting and is stronger than the spray glue.
Just my "dos centavos" worth.

OK, now you have some out there and a good start. Now raise the price to $1.25 this time. If sales are still up there, raise the price to $1.50 next time. When the sales start to drop, hold the price at that price point.
There is no reason that you should spend time and money doing something for no return. It even costs money for the gas to go to the venue and the time you spend sitting and talking to people not to mention the materials and time you spend cutting (even if it is fun).
People do not apreciate something for nothing despite what they say. That is why we have cheap tools and expensive tools. We know what the tool is worth and your customers need to know what your talent is worth too.

As far as I'm concerned, they could weld the hood shut on the newer cars. No one can do their own maintenance on them anymore and they are throw-away vehicles anyway.  >:(
Just drive them until they quit and leave it along side I-35 like everyone else does.

Now back in the good old days........

I had the same problem so I went to the answer store....Lowes (but any place will work) and bought some of those little refrigator magnets that look like push pin tacks. You know, the ones that look like thumb tacks with the "spool" plastic ends.
If you squeese them with a vice or pliers, the plastic breaks off and you have a perfect little magnet 1/8" round and 1/8" long.  They are fairly strong and very cheap. I think it was $1.95 for 10 of them. Don't really rember.

Think outside the lines.

I've been married for 42 years and have had only one fight with my wife.

It started three days after the wedding.

I'll let you know how it turns out later.

I forgot what it was about now.

I've heard the same story but, it came from Bill Cosby when he moved to Beverly Hills. I think he told the story on one of his comedy albums.

DG,
Cutting an intricate pattern like that is just like eating an elephant....Do it one bite at a time. Just don't bother to count the bites (holes) and it will be finished before you know it!
I think I forgot how many holes (bites) this one has but, who cares?
 :D :D :D :D ;)
