Welcome Jeremy,
Thanks for your service.  I hope your move is successful and you can start scrolling soon.  I so a fair amount of scrolling, but really enjoy it when I can incorporate scrolling into a larger piece of wood working.  Sounds like that might be a natural for you as well.

I grew my first beard because I hated shaving.  Years later I shaved it off while job hunting.  That night my son cried when I tucked him in bed.  It hasn't been shaved since.

Judy if we could grow boobs, we wouldn't have time to scroll.  We would be too fascinated looking in the mirror.

Hey Gabby,  I saw a T-shirt that read   "Guns don't kill people.  Fathers of pretty daughters kill people".  If I could fine one I would buy it for my oldest son who has a 17 year old daughter.

also slow saw speed and slow feed rate.  Maple burns easily at a high blade speed and since it is so hard it requires a slow feed rate.

Maybe that's why we are so attracted to the mammaries, we are just trying to get back where we came from.

I surprised GB.  I didn't know you had a husband.

We did it a few years back also.  Great ride, but I actually preferred the Foothills Parkway on the way to the Dragon.  Nice long sweeping turns!  That was a couple years before a car turned into me.  Be careful out there.

Very nice, but I'm sure GB would agree that male hero's have beards.   8)

Toy Makers / Rocking horses for cancer
« on: October 07, 2011, 02:55:57 pm »
I originally posted this in the General Scrollsaw section, but maybe it belongs in this section:

Hey guys & gals---This isn't about scrolling, but I thought some might be interested.  There is a well known woodworking blogger named Mark Spagnuolo (sp) or otherwise as "The Wood Whisperer" at www.thewoodwhisperer.com.  He is a great guy with a lot to offer.

He has teamed up with some of his sponsors and made plans available for a simple rocking horse (plans from wood magazine free).  For anyone who produces a rocking horse and sends him a picture, money will be donated to Woodworkers Fighting Cancer for the Livestrong foundation.  the goal is to make them a $10,000 donation.

He posted a video of the first part of his build, and more are to come.

I intend to build one and enter the fray, & my wife is going to raffle off the project at her office so we can donate the proceeds from the sale as well.

Check it out and see if you wouldn't like to join in!

Yeah I know, and the "cape is in the mail" to I suppose.   Well, at least my dog loves me, or maybe he's just hungry again.  ;D

Hey GB, it could be correct either way.  One way if you are a family member, the other if you are the big bad wolf.
