My daughter in law is over here in Cornwall from Northern Ireland for a weeks holiday with me son and two grandaughters (first time I've seen them) She had a phone call from her sister in Reading, she has just given birth to a baby boy (three weeks early) it was 6lbs and 2ounces, both mother and baby doing fine. As theit holiday finishes this Saturday I had to get my skates on and get this finished for her to give to her sister. It is another great pattern by our "Grampa" Paul. Thanks for the pattern Paul.  Hope you like it

Whoooie!  I bet that made you dizzy a few times!  That looks really nice.  May I ask the dimensions?  I have trouble doing fretwork on large pieces (probably too fat, lol).  If it is as large as it looks, did you sit or stand while cutting it?  And do you have any particular tips for cutting large fretwork pieces?

Really nice clock.  Congratulations.

Becky, the clock is 12" diameter and stands 15" tall. I have to sit while cutting anything on the scrollsaw as my leg won't let me stand too long. This particular clock I worked from the centre out cutting a ring at a time then cut the outer shape. There was a lot of sanding involved as It was the first time I have used spirals for a complete project (spirals leave a lot of fuzzies) . Hope this helped.

Well I finally managed to finish it. It's made all from birch ply, the frone panel is slightly stained with a home made wire wool/vinegar stain, and the base with a dark mahogony stain. Then it's all been given 2 coate of spray varnish. Hope you like it.

great work, the only thing I can see that I would change is the 4 lines you have cut at the rear of the cab section. I would have drilled all the holes for those cuts at the top then tapered the cut from the drill hole. That way you won't have the drill holes showing in the centre of those cuts. But still a very nice piece of work.
