Torsten, you do great work, and I'm not just bs'ing, but even if a guy like me with all thumbs sent Sheila an ornament, and it looked like crap, she would still find something nice to say about it.  Like I said before, top people on both sides of this one!

Where we live a basement is called an indoor swimming pool!  I hit water at about 14 feet for my irrigation system.  Somehow I don't think it would be conducive to a shop

Good response Russ.  I would also add shellac to the mix.  Like lacquer it is fast drying and rubs out well adds depth a a durable and repairable finish.  Dilutable with denatured alcohol.  One of my favorite finishes.

Math, Welcome!  Glad to see you are making progress.  Sheila is being modest, in not telling you that she has an online scrollsaw class over at www.lumberjocks.com.  I think you would find her class beneficial as well.  Good decision on the saw, and I second her opinion that you stand a good chance of finding a good top performing saw on Craigslist.

I have had a great Black Friday!  I spent part of the day doing finishing work on a bookcase I am making for my youngest Grandaughter, and part of the evening starting out building a hallway shoe bench requested by my Daughterinlaw.  Both are to be Christmas presents.  I did go to a store, but only to pickup a half sheet of birch plywood.  With some luck I will finish both projects this weekend.  That's my idea of how to spend the day!
