Having someone to ask before you mess up will save a lot of time and wasted wood. You can learn from your mistakes or from asking someone. I wish I had someone to ask when I first got hired. There where no rookies when I started firefighting. I was the sixth person hired. Fresh out of fire school and eighteen (1976), it was either teach yourself, die or get injured. Well I am still here and have had only a few minor injuries.

Look at the blade with a manify glass. The top has all the teeth pointing down. At the very bottom a few teeth (3/4" or so) point up. What type of wood are you using.

Brag Forum / Mothers Day Heart w/ Wings

Here is another Heart idea I made just in time for Mothers Day . The Halo is made from Shimmer Sticks I got at Wally-World. The wood is from scrap pine. My first cut from any pattern I make is usually from scraps to make sure the pattern works. Anyone wanting the pattern just e-mail me.

I cut mine different. I start off with the cuts in the middle (drilled holes). When I get to the outside of the pattern I cut the intricate areas first (even drilling holes if needed) so I have a larger area to hold on too. This also seems to give more support to the more fragile areas. Then I work my way around the rest of the pattern. So the waste can be on the right or left (inside or outside) of the blade. It really doesn't matter. That's just my way.

Pattern Requests. / Re: newbie patterns?

Now that is a problem. Inkscape will not save it as a picture file only as .svg and .pdf . If I get the time I will have to print it, then scan it as a .jpg . You really need to get your computer fixed. The majority of patterns are saved as .pdf . I know all Steve's patterns are .pdf .
