Turn that saw on (after it is unplugged of course), and hook it up to a foot switch and tape over the switch and you won't have that problem in the future.  Glad you got it working.

I agree with roger.  Even the brown paper bag trick.  Try it...it works!  Poplar is one of my favorite woods.
