Thanks everyone. I ordered some spiral blades from the Mike, size 3/0. I never used them before so I'm going to give them a try.

Hi everyone. I left a comment on Paul's page about how he broke a lot of blades on his cutout. He had a lot of blade changes and that will cause a lot of breaks. I had the same problem on this pic using a 3/0 reverse blade. There's a lot of bending of the blade when you try to get it through that little hole and it wears down but I got it done. This is 1/4 in B/B, 8x10

Nice cutting Tommy. Do you have any trouble cutting with a spiral blade. I just ordered some # 3 from Mike to try out. I never had to much luck with them but I have a much better scroll saw now that I had before. A Dewalt 788.

Paul, That came out great. I know what you mean about breaking blades. There's a lot of blade changes there. This is a pic of one that I did and I also had a lot of blade breaks. I used a 3/0 reverse.

Great looking pattern. I've been doing a lot of portraits to. Mine are all 8x10 framed. You might want to try and put a piece of black felt behind that instead of the walnut and see how that looks for you and then in a frame. Just a thought.

This is a piece I finished a while ago. It's made out of 3/4 oak. It's about 7" high x14 long.

Nice cutting Judy. I'm always afraid to try a spiral blade. Seems like it would be hard to control but you have it down pretty good.

Great job.  I might try that with a different date. Should work with any date I would think.

Looks great. You did a good job. Portraits are tricky to cut out. I've done a few myself.

Those look great. I always wish I could something like that but i'm always afraid to try. Seems intimidating. Maybe one of these days.
