I haven't watched football since the 1970's when the players went on strike and I did too.  I thought they were overpaid then and much more so now.  The whole thing is pure greed not like it was when the players played for love of the game.

If your local lumber yard doesn't carry it, they might special order it for you.  Be sure to specify Baltic Birch in 5x5' sheets.

I would agree with the others.  A lot of people who buy projects do like to have them signed by the maker.  I used to have people ask me to sign my work but always did so on the back.

Ask Steve a question. / Re: Totally New Scroller Needs Pointers

Sounds as though you have gotten good advice.  A common mistake by new scrollers is not pushing the wood directly into the blade, especially when making turns without trying to force the cut faster than the saw wants to work.

Very nicely done.  I really like the design and finish.

I have the DeWalt and ordered the easy lift but have never installed it as don't see the need for it.  So far, I have gotten by with just lifting it and holding while I insert the blade from the top.

Nicely done.  Here you would have to do a fruit jar and moonshine.

Finally getting some Christmas done.  The Merry Christmas is 3/4" in either soft maple or aspen.  The ornaments are 1/4" in purpleheart, mahogany, oak and walnut and 1/8" Baltic Birch.

I can't imagine not having my planer for my scrolling.  I don't use it every day but surely couldn't live without it.  I use the table saw for sizing pieces, 2 drill presses and a dremel for drilling the holes, 6" belt sander and several palm sanders with different grits, 3 scroll saws as always need a backup.  I also have other tools but not usually for scrolling.

I had the same shaking problem when I moved into my shop with wood floors.  Put a bag of tube sand on the base of the saw and no more shaking.
