It's interesting to see their project-pak lumber kits.  I wonder if they had to seek Wood magazines' permission for using their photos or since it brings in revenue for Wood, then they don't have a problem with it.

It looks like a good site, but you folks who order BB will have to tell me if the prices plus shipping is reasonable.

Thanks,
Karl

Nice stuff Dan.  Thanks for the heads-up on the link.  A lot of good patterns there.

Nice job.  Beautiful.

I was wondering how long it took you to cut this out?  I saw this pattern and thought it might take a while.

Well UF is my alma mater and I just watched them take a beating.  The only saving grace will be the rematch for the SEC championship (I hope).

Bill, I agree.  You've lost your beginner status!  You've attempted and accomplished more than many people have I'm sure.  Don't be too hard on yourself.  Sometimes we are our own worst critic.

Remember there's only one person whoever walked this earth that was perfect.  :)

It's great to see what you've produced in a limited area.

Keep it up!

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Help - sheets of laminent
« on: September 30, 2010, 05:14:02 pm »
I'll add to this by saying laminate can be sharp, so be careful. (To "smooth" edges on the laminate use a file.)  Also if you cut it down to more manageable size on the table saw, clamp a piece of wood down next to the fence so the laminate doesn't run underneath your fence.

What colors do you have?  I think it would make nice backers to fret work cutting.

I would think cutting laminate with a scroll saw blade would dull your blades rather quickly.  I've used laminate for counters, shelves and cabinets, but that's about it.

Oh, you might could use it for stencils.  ???

No worries on the Southwest coast either.  Just a few drops of liquid sunshine and that's it!

I'm not sure how this would work on a small project.  It appears to be made for larger ones.  i.e. tables, clocks, etc.  It reminds me of a clock my Dad still has that is made from a cypress slab with roman numerals embedded in the finish.  You can still also see this finish on slab coffee tables.

Maybe you could dip the key chain in a mixture to get it to work?
