Merlin, that is about the same way I made mine. I used a Carriage bolt instead of all thread (threaded rod). It works great.  :)

The Flying Dutchman Jewelers Blade 3/0 is 0.009 inches thick. That is about as thin as it gets. You can get them from Mike at:  8)

Finished some of my orders so I decided since Halloween is right around the corner to make a few things. They are my designs and made with 1/4" Baltic Birch plywood  8)

Janet, you need to use a good quality Baltic Birch plywood. It won't chip and break like the 1/4" plywood at HD. I get mine from Sloan's Woodshop. Very nice people, good prices. Never had a problem.  :)

Either a Scotch Brite Pad or fine Steel Wool and WD-40. After you get it clean and the rust removed use a rag with some Mineral Spirits to remove any oily residue. Let dry, then you can use Johnson Paste Wax to help prevent rust and make the wood slide when cutting.  8)

I use mine in my drill press at 1100 rpm. Seems to work fine for me. I made mine from materials I had in my shop.  8)

That is a good idea to make your own box trays. You can make them the size to fit your puzzle.  8)

As far as I can tell he has not been back on. I have e-mailed him but have not gotten a reply. I agree, I hope we didn't lose him.  :(
