I think I will read this one to my old German Shepard tonight when I get home Judy.  He may not understand, but he will perk up his ears and cock his head to one side while i am reading.

The accolades are never ending, and well deserved!  Once again Steve, thanks for all you do for all of us.

The other night I decided it was time to quit for the evening when i touched one finger of my left hand to a spinning bit in the router table.  Those spiral carbide bits sure are efficient at flesh removal!  No real damage done, but it sure woke me up!

Have fun with it Ed.  I am still using xp on a couple of machines, but 7 is the best os so far.  It woun't be long until you are used to it.  I have a laptop and my desktop and both get a lot of use.

Ditto on what everyone has said, but I also recommend using pgt blades for this wood.  I have cut a fair amount of purpleheart and it can be challenging.

I don't buy the repositionable due to the increased cost.  I either tape with painter's tape first and then use the sticky sheet, or if I don't want to tape it, I just use a heat gun which makes the sticky sheets peel right up.  Harbor Frieght (not a place I often recommend) usually has their heat gun for about $14.  fast and cheap!

If they are pine, I dip them in stain and them finish them with spray shellac or lacquer.  I don't think I have ever painted one.

They say you are what you eat, so maybe some of that intelligence will rub off.  Personally that's one reason I avoid vegetables.
