For making portrait type things, you can't beat 1/8" Baltic Birch, stack cut. Dollar store frame.

Mrtcurtis, my first one was so thin, it broke as I was unwrapping it from it's cocoon. That's when I figured out to cut slightly to the outside of the lines.
