If you are gluing the pieces together I would oil after as the glue may not stick

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Feeding Blades..bottom or top?
« on: December 16, 2012, 08:22:39 pm »
I have always fed the blade from the bottom but I think it would be far easier to feed from the top as you would not have to bend over to see where the hole is, must give it a go in the new year

General Scroll Saw Talk / Ex Calibur
« on: December 14, 2012, 01:28:01 am »
I had a post several weeks ago about the problems I have had with my Ex Excalibur scroll saw. and after sending a note to the NZ agents and not receiving a reply after a week and a half I sent a e-mail to Ray Seymour and received a reply in less than 2 hours saying he has taken action on my problems and should get some feed back very quick, thank you Ray for this and i await the out come.
I am not a person to complain about minor problems but when it gets out of hand the only way is to go to the top
I know this is a superior saw but has been handled rather badly by the agents in NZ
Thanks for listening to my problems, hope you all don't have the same

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: stack cutting gone bad
« on: December 14, 2012, 01:20:26 am »
When I stack cut now I use an air staple gun or tack in small brads to hold the pieces together, I used to tape also tried double sided tape but I found the boards did move

I use stick glue from the $$ store it's cheap but the pattern stick, I put clear packing tape over the pattern, removing the tape takes most of the pattern off,any pattern left on the wood I sand off

I glue as well as staple the corners when making frames, use either an air or hand stapler, cutting the miters is the most important part

If I had the choice I would buy a Henger, I have a Ex Excalibur and have never ending problems and by the time it is out of warranty it will be only fit for the tip

It takes practice to sharpen the blades, I do mine on a belt sander and finish hand sanding as Judy does
