I think it is a very practical idea, I got it from a member when I first joined as i had a packaging dilemma as well and the shrink and plastic type wrap does not work when selling out doors

I had trouble with some wood filler I used for an inlay and it was black, so I used a wood with a closer grain and it solved the problem, although I sill had to damp wipe the surface

General Scroll Saw Talk / Dispaly trays
« on: January 23, 2011, 09:01:54 pm »
Here is the trays I use for my jigsaw puzzles, simple but effective the lid is just a square and it is held on while traveling  with rubber bands and a description and price on the out side.
You can either staple them together or hot melt them and clamp with the small clamps as shown for a few minutes, I had a lot of card given to me but I usually get card board boxs from the super market

Generally you start with base of the bowl to get the shape that you want and also to put a foot on to to remove the center.
BUT the best option for him is to get some lessons from an instructor on the basics of woodturning and also sharpening his gouges this is a very important part of this craft with out correctly sharpened tool you are wasting your time
Hope this of some help
