Very nice card box, great idea. I have made several square/rectangle boxes and I can't get them to fit more than one way either. If I try to sand it so it fits the other way, it just gets loose and sloppy. I just put a little tab or notch to show whuch way it fits....

I have tried but failed in photoshop & Gimp. I can do the desaturate & filters, but when it comes to any artwork i'm useless... My niece and nephew had to put down their pet of 14 years and they have asked if I could do something for the front of the box where they keep her ashes. The front face of the box is 5" high x 11.25 wide. I know it's a verticle picture in a horizontal space, but that's the picture they want.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. It does not have to be done by Christmas... Thank goodness.
Thanks, Pete

I would go Lowes and look at it, go HD and look at the Ryobi. I can't tell from the picture if you can adjust the depth from the top. It is important tha it be easy to change the bits and the depth of cut.

For doing rabbets and for rounding edges or putting on a decorative edge, you may want a router table. I picked this little guy up for under $100 at HD with the router attached. I leave it attached, I have another if I need to do something else, but I haven't used it in years. Works great for what I do.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Dust Collection
« on: December 18, 2012, 06:50:34 pm »
I use a a shopvac to collect dust from the saw (top & bottom) or the drill press. The shopvac hose goes up through the false ceiling to the next room over, so I don't hear it. I have a remote control to turn it on/off. I also have the fan setup to catch anything the vac misses.
