Outstanding job! I got tired just thinking about all those cuts. It was well worth it. Thanks for the post.

Fantastic job Bob. Try stacking two or three 1/8" ply. You get more for your efforts that way.

I've seen some really cool door panels that were made on a CNC. If I could carve worth a darn, I'd love to try making one of those types of panels. But, I'm not that artistic, so if I had a CNC I know the first thing I'd make.

Hi Bob,

I've had a lot of luck with the sled ornaments and, surprisingly, portraits draw a lot of interest.

Some folks use PVC. Just cut to the length you need and plug the bottom, then band them together.

This is probably not what you are looking for, but here's a quick and easy village. http://www.woodworkersjournal.com/Uploads/Public/Documents/Issue289/WJC099%20Christmas%20Puzzles.pdf

Let me know if the link doesn't work.

Thanks for the larger picture. I thought those were weeds growing under the hood. Better watch out for the narcs. :D

Great job! I know he will love it.

BTW, the Marines have a saying, "Once a Marine, always a Marine!" I was told to never say a former Marine.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Saw in the Basement
« on: November 28, 2011, 09:06:19 pm »
My saw is in the basement. I have a 20" box fan with a furnace filter strapped to it sitting about 8" to the right of my saw. The blower on my scroll saw blows in the direction of the fan. When the fan is on, it picks up about 90% of the dust. I also hung a shower curtain around where I saw to partition the basement a little. Seems to work well.

Way to go Corey. Just think of all the money you save from not buying alcohol...oh, wait, you will spend it on wood. Well, still a way better deal.
