Now that is a Very Handsome Name Frame.  Gives me ideas now.  Never tried the Inlay,
but guess its just securing a light and dark species of wood together and be real careful
of cutting each letter (and hoping they fit back into the opposite color.)  Don't know why
I haven't already tried this.  Oh well....Dustin you did a Great job on both.  Danny  :+}

Frank I think you have to be noted as the guy that has a imagination for wood projects.  Always coming up with Great things.

I like the looks of the Salamander's -Original- Well cut.  What made you use 3/4 wood?
Will Look Good painted Different Colors.  Maybe even Spotted.     Danny  :+}

Want to Thank All for your Input.  Live n Learn I Guess.  Long story short cutting a Compound pattern at first was not as easy as cutting other patterns, but when I got used to the Slow cutting and waiting for the lil object to come out of the middle made each kind of exciting.
Well I have showed some to family and friends and All are amazed that I could cut them to look pretty much like a Bird House.  Even the little bird.  Anyway I have started getting the feeling that I will take Al's suggestion of $4.00 and also GB's with 3 for $10.  Tks again....Danny  :+}

Pattern Requests. / Re: Simple House Pattern?
« on: October 18, 2013, 11:07:41 am »
My 2 cents....Cutting straight lines....Of course keep tension correct, but also keep saw speed around 3/4.  My experience is with saw running slow makes staying on line more difficult.

Cutting curves is easier.  Learn by practice to get good eye, hand control.  Takes time, but
cutting curves will become easy.

And after many, many hours of cutting patterns you will also say.  PIECE OF CAKE.  LOL

If your cutting a HARD wood like Oak or....the cutting will be more difficult.  If your cutting
Pine or Popular or a soft of semi soft wood the difference is night n day.  My first thought
was to reduce the size of the pattern to be able to reduce the size of the wood.

I have cut over 40 different patterns resently using POPULAR and some Good Pine.  I have
experimented with different blades as is mentioned above.  I swear by the FD-UR #1.
This is the blade I have used for 90% of all the patterns.

YES Tension is IMPORTANT.  Cutting speed is Very Important.  It is Slow going, but when
you get the swing of this and LETTING THE BLADE DO THE CUTTING.  NEVER push.
Wrecks a project real fast.  Anyway this is my 2cents...............................Danny  :+}
