Very nice job! I counted 12. I think the other 4 are hiding.

Thanks for the input. They are so easy to make and take so little time, I figure if none of them sell, I'll give them to the local library for their kids crafts. I had someone ask last year for some unfinished ornaments for the kids to decorate and I had none. I'll probably make a few of those too.

As for the third pattern, to make the 6" tree, I just enlarged the 5" pattern and resized the slots.

My wife thinks I'm insane! I'm working on items for next Christmas.

I made some of these trees a few years ago. My thought is to leave them unfinished and sell them cheap. The selling point will be to let the kids paint and decorate them. I'm thinking of using some small scraps to make tiny ornaments to decorate the trees (but not sure how that will work). I think I'll have a few decorated different ways to give customers some ideas. And one of the great things about these is, they can be taken apart and laid flat for storage. The three sizes shown are 6", 5", and 4". I stack six pieces of BB ply and cut. Takes about 30 minutes to cut and sand the pieces to make 6 trees.

I will put the pattern in the pattern area.

Comments or other ideas always welcome.

Edit: OK, I thought there was a pattern section here. I'll just add the pattern here.

Hmm...how about an adjustable table. One that could be raised to take advantange of the unused part of the blades. The thickest I usually cut is 1", so the top 3/4" of the blade never gets used.

Here's the jig I made. I used a scrap 6" long by 1 5/16" wide by 7/8" high. I beveled the top edges so the sled parts don't get glued to the jig. I put a stop-block on the front and a small finish nail on top. The finish nail can be adjusted to suit how far back on the runners you want the sled top.

To assemble, just put the runners so they rest on the jig sides and front of the runners rest on the stop-block. Put 3 or 4 drops of super glue on each runner. Hold the runners in place with one hand and place the top of the sled in place. The top of the sled should rest on the runners and be against the nail. (If the sled top rests on the jig, just sand a bit off the bottom of the jig.) Just hold the sled in place until the glue sets. I hold for about 30 seconds.

Here are some pictures. Hope this all makes sense.

Hey termite, I used super glue. Put three or four drops on top of each runner and glue in place. I make a little jig out of scraps to make the assembly a little easier. I'll try to remember to post a picture of the jig tomorrow.

Good one. I guess Santa and his elves can't do it all by themselves.

Thanks Jerry (jhiggins)! You did a great job on these. The wife hung them on the tree before I could take pictures. Well, I took them down to share with you all.

Thanks again Jerry.

Hmmm...there might be a new market for rabbit meat. The more you eat the hungrier you get.

Someone told me today that ESPN has the most control over the cost of cable TV. I think I believe him. I hope Pujols stubs his toe and is out half the season. Of course, I do think he is one of the best ball players currently, but he will be on the downhill side of his career over the next 10 years.
