Mark, if you were to find and use the exact center, your sign might stop at a horizontal plane rather than vertical so you wouldn't be able to read it (unless you layed on the floor). Will the pivot point be something that could be tightened slightly to keep the sign vertical? If so, you guess close enough and not have to be so exact.
OR, you could make a practice one!
Pete

Oh, by the way Welcome from Minnesota!

Tutorials, Techniques and Tips / Re: Question for DonR
« on: January 08, 2013, 06:19:51 pm »
Hey guys, me again. Mike, I had that same problem. Step 42 you create a second layer, in 43 you flip-flop them, but you still have two.
I did this instead for step 44.... go to "Image" then "Flatten Image" this will combine or "Merge" the two layers into one.

Thank you for your help Don. I had a hard time with the little letters on the bottom (they're only 1/4" tall), but the rest is OK. I think. Did three in 1/8" ply, maple, cherry & of course BB. I will let them stain them to match the cremation urn.

Thanks for the comments guys. Once I actually printed it out and started looking at, I can see the issues with the steering wheels and a couple other areas.

Been Goofing around with pattern making, by reading posts and asking questions of folks on this forum. Watching the work of Mahendra and Don R has inspired me. I used a combination of Gimp and Inkscape. How'd I do?

Nice pattern Don.
Question, where do you find the pictures to use for the patterns? I was looking at google, bing and Wikimedia this morning for a pic of Harry, and I could not find one that was for sure not a copyright issue.
