Ditto! I guess we know who the early birds are.

Here in Northern KY, the grass is green, the lilacs are blooming, the temp is a little higher than seasonal, but it's raining. Wait, I like the rain. It will be a good day. Plus, I'm going to Rockler to pick up some attachments to finish hooking up my dust collector. It will be a great day!

Just like Dan and Roger said, the choice is yours. I frame mine because I like it to look finished. I want to start using rough-cut boards with some bark on them to do some portraits. I think when they are finished, they look great. I almost always use a backer (felt or painted plywood). Also, I use to use 1/4" ply for the portraits, but found it easier to frame when using 1/8". And, I can stack more that way.

Have fun trying all the different suggestions.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Tough day with Purplewood

If you are refering to purpleheart, yes, it is very hard. I don't use it that thick because it dulls blades. You can try wrapping some packing tape around it. The tape will help lubricate the blade and reduce the burning.

Most excellent use of scraps. Is that your pattern? If not, where did you get it?

Gene, you will find lots of wood turning videos on YouTube. Or just do a Google search.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong. When you post something, your post allows you to remove, modify or quote your own post. Nobody else can remove or modify it (except, perhaps, the moderators). Hope that answers your question.

I had a couple of small items I had my wife put out on a yard sale for a couple of buck...no takers. I put them out at a craft show and they sold...for a decent price. I think the venue has a lot to do with it. I agree with Danny, yard sales and flea markets are where people want to get something for nothing. I think you have to try what you are comfortable with. If something doesn't sell, don't take it personal, just move on to a different venue. Good luck!

I feel the pain. At least I did felt it about two years ago. Took me six weeks of PT and four months of daily exercises at home to get to feeling comfortable. I thought it would never heal.

Hope you have a speedy recovery.

I like everyones comments on this. I think the industry would self-regulate according to necessity. I do agree about the liability issue for companies and my first thought is it would lower insurance premiums. But then, instead of lowering them, the insurance companies would just raise rates for companies who don't use the technology. The common man (and woman) never win. I do like the technology, and with time think it (or something similar) would be incorporated without big brother holding our hand (while he slips his other one into our wallets).

OK, I'm off my soapbox for today.
