If you are going to do craft shows or any other type of selling you must have a big variety, this attracts people to your table, then you have the opportunity of selling your wares, you must also remember  you have to keep your price at a level that will make a sale, you will not get retail prices for your goods, you may not even get a fair return for the hours you put in to some of your things but you can make it up on others, swings and round a bouts
Ive been selling my stuff for 8 years and have the occasional bad fair but not many and it is fun

Cant see that it makes much difference, if it's a large pattern I will drill a few them get up and drill some more but that is only so I get to stretch my weary bones

I have found that it has to be adjusted from time to time as it becomes loose and wont stay up, it is not hard to adjust but would be a lot easier if there was two of you

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Dust mask really needed?
« on: April 20, 2011, 10:44:41 pm »
I use a series of dust extractors that I have put on the forum one under the saw and the other on top of the saw and when cutting MDF I always wear a mask, some said they have an air purifier they are very good but not in the ceiling as you are drawing the dust up past your face so you must be inhaling it
After you have finished in your work shop for the day wipe your saw bench down and the next day see if there is dust on it

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: sanding sealer

If you are using sanding sealer and put oil on top of it the oil will not penetrate the wood, and as a rule you do put sanding sealer on top of oil

There are different grades of high speed steel and these tools would be at the lower end, BUT they are OK for the beginner, I have a set of cheap tools as well as my high grade ones, the price is hard to resist at times

This is a box I made for a customer he wanted it to put his dog's ashes in, this one of a number of unusual requests I have had of late, note the hole in the front handle that is to nail the coffin closed, I gave the customer a copper brad to seal it.
