The Coffee Shop / Woodcarving
« on: November 20, 2013, 10:03:57 pm »
Have only scrolled a couple of years.  Up until now, I thought I was also a woodcarver.  I stopped thinking that.   :-[   :-[   :'(

The Coffee Shop / Two married guys
« on: November 19, 2013, 09:57:13 pm »
Two pals, both recently wedded were comparing the merits of their wives.

"Ah yes," said George, who was still very much in love, said "My little woman is an angel! She couldn't tell a lie to save her life."

"Lucky duck" said Samuel sighing, "My wife can tell a lie the minute I get it out of my mouth."

General Scroll Saw Talk / Helpful Tip ???
« on: November 16, 2013, 10:03:50 pm »
Maybe everyone of you already knew this accept me.  When sawing board (not with a spiral blade), take 1/4" thick pieces of scrap and glue them around the border that will be cut away later.  GREAT grips for your hands, as they will automatically hold them for rotating the wood.

I found this to be so much easier to quickly whip the plywood around curves.

General Scroll Saw Talk / What blade should I use ??
« on: November 08, 2013, 08:54:42 pm »
Fairly new to the game.  Only interested in fretwork, not portraits or intarsia.  Buy blades from Lowes.  Their # SS5-28PL Bosch,  28 tpi.   .022".  My REALLY cheap saw only uses about 3/4" of the blade.

What Flying Dutchman blade would be comparable?
Do you recommend a reverse tooth & can it be installed either end up (to double the life)?
Do you recommend a reverse tooth for what I am doing?  An example would be Steve Good's fretwork baskets.

Thanks a big bunch !!!!!!!!

The Coffee Shop / A test to see if you have a gay streak

Do it quickly and go on your first answer.

1.  Think of a country beginning with the letter D

2.  Take the 2nd letter of that country and think of an animal.

3.  Think of the colour of that animal.

As long as you weren't thinking of a gray elephant from Denmark, you're straight.............
