Intarsia / schnauzer

Wife commissioned me to make this one as a gift for her Sister, whose beloved Schnauzer passed on this past year.  Unfortunatly, I had to use stains to get the colors required, and I was not overly happy about the way the stains took to the wood.  I doubt that I will ever use Rustoleum stains again.
Pattern by Bruce Worthington,  I used Aspen, Walnut, and cherry  Dog is about 8 x 9 inches

Came from a Judy Gale Roberts book called  "Artistry in Wood"

Love it! My team.  Beware of the trademark police.

Not really worried about them at all.  It was not made for selling.  It was a gift only.  Trademark laws prohibit sales and profiting,  I am not doing either one.

This was my first attempt, and I made some errors mostly in the layout.  I glued 7 pieces of wood together and should have centered the pattern.  I was off by a bit but that's ok on this one,  its for myself.

Oak  Poplar, and Aromatic Cedar

Design is by Steve Good, and I enlarged it.

I made these by stack cutting.  One for a friend, and one for me.  Letters were cut out individually and painted before attaching.

Tomorrow we will celebrate my wife's granddaughters sixteenth birthday.  In honor of this occasion, I made some sawdust this morning.  This is a Steve Good Pattern, easy to cut, and I think she will like it.

This is a Judy Gale Roberts pattern.  I used different shades of Poplar, and some Walnut.  Used Leather dye on the shadow as I didn't have any wood that was dark enough.

By the way, Anyone going to Judy's Open House on the 26th of this month in Tennessee? I plan to attend and hopefully get a better idea of what I should be striving for.
