General Scroll Saw Talk / DW788 owners or knowledge of please
« on: August 21, 2015, 11:50:27 am »
Hi all
I just got my grubby paws on this type 1 788 as pic1
now although its a great machine is it normal to have a lot of fuzzies as pic 2 (I;m thinking not)
up till now I have been using a delta Q3 and although its a quite harsh C arm machine I never have to sand anything except the back of really thin stuff like portraits.
Now I am using the same blade type same size and virtually the same speed and the same material
so whats wrong, is there an adjustment or something I'm missing
any help appreciated

Dave

Computer questions / Re: Inkscape download
« on: May 05, 2015, 06:14:36 am »
Thank you John!!  Ok now... I have been practicing Inkscape for 3 days now and I am getting better each day. But I have another question. I was watching a video and he mentioned that I could go to dafond.com and get more fonts.
I went there, clicked on download, but I cant get it from my Download file to Inkscape. Can anyone help me with that last step? I saw so many wonderful fonts that I would love to use. Thank you all.

go to were the font has downloaded to click on the font .ttf or ,otf  etcand a box will open showing the font usually saying " the quick brown fox"
at the top left of that box click on install and your font will be available in all programs

This no-picture crap has put a big kink in the use of this forum. Is there any chance the problem will be fixed?

Ray
totally agree, there has been a definite slow down  in usage since it started
surely if the pictures were only on for say a week or so and then deleted it would keep server space free

I think as he has not responded he must be busy at work

It takes a really lazy "LOW LIFE" to do this.  Is there any way you can step in there and stop them?  Really can't believe that people are crazy enough to buy them when they can get them for free.   A little baffled here.

What can be done, well little or nothing really
If say I were to lodge a complaint with E bay, because I sell related products ie scroll sawn plaques etc it would be seen as a personal attack on another seller and go unfounded.
They do operate the VERO program, but will only accept a complaint from the person that owns the IP/copyright, and even then said person would be required to prove the IP before they issued a take down notice, and believe me trying to prove copyright in the UK is not easy.

We have one in the US doing the same.  He is selling them on e-bay as airbrush patterns.

Really its just not real
the bit I dont get is why any  one would buy them, you only have to search google images and loads turn up and you can copy them
but he is selling big style I have just searched the sold items  in the UK and they are selling

NOW JUST LOOK AT THIS
here we have a guy on E Bay.UK
that has quite obvoiously been doing the rounds of the sites and stealing patterns and then reselling them.
Cannot believe that people will buy them as most are pretty free to download - the cheek of it

So I got mad
at my cable because it raise my bill to $204 a month- I had to get a new e-mail address and so a new username & id,  but I'm still the 1 1/2 thumb guy talk to you later--Richard :o :o :o :o
$204Ouch
Is this the sort of region you guys have to pay, I suppose if it comes with a full blown TV package for instance, but still expensive
So I am curious to know how much people do pay in different ares and countires, and of course what you actually get for your money

Here in the UK BT (British Telecom) are undergoing an upgrade of the phone lines to make them all fibre optic this was completed in my area about 4 months ago
When complete and you subscribe to it you can get speeds of up to 40MB depending how close you are to the nearest distribution box

so in my package we are getting

37 MB download speed
6MB upload
together with
totally unrestricted download allowance
free evening and weekend calls to landlines
free any time calls to numbers on the same network
28 day catch up tv
we get this for ?30GBP  about $43 USD per month

What do you get for your money???
